The Pastoral Council and the Finance Council are two advisory bodies mandated by the Code of Canon Law. The Pastoral Council is an advisory/consultative body made up of members who discern their call to look out for the pastoral and spiritual concerns of the parish. Members of the Council represent all parishioners, focusing on what is best for the entire parish rather than specific groups of parishioners. The Council leaves the management of parish operations to the parish staff. It concerns itself with long range strategic planning-identifying where the parish wants to be in three to five years and how to get there. In addition, it addresses whatever pastoral concerns the pastor brings them.
